Heavy Metal PlayStation 5 New Metallic PS5 Covers, DualSense Controllers Coming Soon
One of the most iconic factors for the PlayStation 5 is its changing PS5 covers and many themes for its controllers, with Sony now introducing new metallic colors for the console, also with matching new DualSense variants. Gone are the days with matte colors and camouflage, as Sony is moving forward with its "Deep Earth" Collection, coming later this year.
The latest State of Play from PlayStation brought significant news regarding the upcoming experiences for the platform, but also its wide range of customization.
Heavy Metal PS5: New Metallic Covers, DualSense Coming
According to the PlayStation Blog, the latest console covers and DualSense designs will bring is taking a profound take on the planet's colors, with the company introducing the "Deep Earth Collection."
This centers on the PS5 family's accessories including the console covers and new DualSense controller options, featuring three options Volcanic Red, Cobalt Blue, and Sterling Silver.
Instead of the traditional matte finish of the console, it will feature a metallic shine to it, alongside bright pop of colors.
These metallic colors are also coming to the DualSense controllers that would match what the console features, and according to Satoshi Aoyagi "We drew inspiration from the beautiful and powerful hues found in the depths of planet Earth."
"We elevated the colors by adding a metallic finish for a touch of sophistication," he added.
How Much Would PS5's New Covers and Controllers Be?
According to Tech Radar, the console covers would each cost $59.99, and the DualSense colors would be available for $74.99 SRP.
Sony would open preorders come October, with the Red and Blue colors first dropping by November 3, and the Silver shortly following by January 26, 2024.
PlayStation 5: The Sony Experience
There are still massive debates on which is the best console to buy now, whether it is either the PlayStation 5 or the Xbox Series S/X, and there are many answers here, but it all boils down to preference and the games that come with it. One of the main experiences available now for the PS5 is its retro experience under PS Plus Premium, leveraging the PS1 titles to the console.
While talks regarding the next console, the PlayStation 6, are still stagnant as it is expected later this decade, there are leaks and speculations behind what will be the next version of the PS5. This is the PS5 Slim that will soon come to the world, as regarded from rumors, said to be "slightly faster" than the current console, with this mid-gen release delivering a refresh to the gaming platform.
Sony is bringing massive things to the PlayStation 5 now and then with its latest updates and games, but it does not miss out on the renowned customization for the console. The Deep Earth Collection is dropping soon, starting this October, and will stem out until January 2024, all delivering metallic console covers, alongside the DualSense controllers.
